Seattle drizzle brunch roof

Challenge
A café wanted ‘sails like the catalog photo’ over a rain-season patio. Knitted HDPE would pass water. The owner thought any overhead cloth was waterproof.
Solution
Meridian heat-sealed PVC, integrated drainage, forest-adjacent RAL. House — building — photo of the alley ledger. Rain sensor not a substitute for a welded roof.
Budget
Single Meridian module, Mehler membrane, LED, no heaters (kitchen already warm): $16,000–$19,000 configured.
Products
Results
Service through gray season. Trustpilot note: they were glad we refused the sail. One-week freight slip, rewritten the same day.
Energy savings
Not a cooling story — a dry-seat story. Closed membrane still cuts winter wind on the glass. No SHGC claim invented for a marine climate.
