Maintenance schedule for motors, fabric and frames
Seasonal checks that keep warranties valid: motors, sensors, zip tracks, gutters and powder coat.
Twice a year
Spring and fall: run the unit through a full cycle, test wind/rain sensors, clear gutters and post downpipes, and confirm the house photo on file still matches the install (we use it for service calls).
- Lubricate zip tracks with dry PTFE only — no petroleum.
- Check set screws on arms, posts and hoods.
- Replace remote batteries; keep a spare 1-channel remote in the kitchen.
Questions people ask
- How often should I service a motor?
- Visual check twice a year; a certified tech if noise, slow travel or error LEDs appear.
- Do I retract for snow?
- Yes for fabric roofs and retractable louvers. Rotating Helio blades may stay closed within the published snow load — retract Nimbus packs.
